John Logie Baird was the first to invent television. He was born in my home town of Helensburgh, Argyll, Scotland, UK, and lived in a house in Argyle Street where his sister lived until she was in her nineties. Baird went to London and invented many things but never really made much money from them. The first television used to be housed in the Templeton Library in Helensburgh but I don't know where it is now.
