The eastern conference is wide open, to say if a team is going to make the playoffs or not at this stage of the season is really hard to say. As of today, they are in the eighth spot for the playoffs but they are tied right now with Montreal. The division they are in however is a very difficult one with Ottawa and Buffalo in it. These two teams are both going to be playing them numerous times so the road to the playoffs is very hard and difficult and at this stage I would say is not going to happen.

leafs will make the playoffs in a 7th or 8th seed but have a first or second round exit....................and to the person who said the leafs are easy to beat (and your a sabres fan) we've beaten the sabres a few times so add playoff atmosphere and sundin with his determination ALSO all your injuries to the sabres.........should make for a great first round match-up if leafs vs sabres

7 - Carolina (67 pts)
8 - NYI, Toronto, Montreal (66 pts)
I say Carolina and Montreal fade away and NYI and Toronto make the playoffs.

I don't know if they will, but I hope they do because they will be easy to beat in the playoffs.

i sure hope they do!
but even if they make it, it'll prbly be as eighth position/going nowehre.
but hopefully ppl underestimate them and they come out of nowhere and bring the cup home =]
it's a dream that i'm hoping will come true =P

yes they will why because the level of the opposition is low and they are a tiny bit better.
