Both the vitamins and the metformin can cause nausea. I take my vitamin at bed time, and that seems like it reduces the nausea from the vitamin (or at least I get to sleep through it.) The metformin, however, was another story. It works very well and I feel wonderful, but it took some time to get used to it. My doctor warned me that the first month, I might very well feel miserable, but to stick with it. Some people find if they take it in the middle of a meal, it makes them less sick, though I've found for me, its best to take it at the end of a meal. Some people can take it with just a glass of milk, while others need food. I find that it's not just "food" but enough food to cushion the pill and not leave me feeling queasy.

With the metformin, always take it with food, and ramp your dose up slowly, and you may reduce some of the nausea.

it is very very common to get naseuated with this drug. If you think it might be something else possibly pregnancy then just get a pregnancy test...

Did your doctor prescribe you metformin because you are trying to concieve or just because you have PCOS.. the reason i ask is some woman with PCOS can up their chances of concieving but if you mix clomid and metformin throughout your cycle it gives you an even greater chance of concieving, most woman who have taken clomid and metformin together through cycle end up getting pregnant...So it time has passed and you still have not gotten pregnant try talking to your doctor about clomid as well and good luck!

Ask your Dr. to give you the "Extended Release" version of Metformin. I used to take regular metformin & hated it everyday! Im taking 500mg twice a day & I dont feel sick anymore! Hope that helps!

The nausea is from the prenatal vitamins. Ask your doctor to switch you to a bad called Premesis. They are a vitamin but they are also used to curb the nauseous feeling.
