computers shutdown when any of your hardware is in danger of failing or overheating
sometimes it may be trivial, but microsoft dont want you to blame them when your prize processor goes up in flames
however if you want to stop these shutdowns and restarts, you can by right click my computer>advanced>start up and recovery>uncheck "automatically restart",this will stop the shutdowns but you still need to locate the problem
for starters clean all your fans, including c.p.u fan and all chassis fans, also check all cables(ide, power) a loose cable can cause shorts which will cause shutdowns, which means it could also be your p.s.u(power supply unit)
the best way to find the problem is by checking every single part of your p.c,it trial and error, but my moneys on your cables as i had a similar problem myself and it was a loose ide cable, infact the clip on the cable that attaches to the hard drive(20 pin connector)
but basically your p.c is shutting down to prevent hardware damage
i hope this helps
good luck

What you may be experiencing is an automatic update. I receive a countdown alert before mine forces a reboot, but that may not be the case if I was to disable that feature.

Forcing the reboot is evil when, for example, you're not at your computer but still doing something online like downloading files.
