i love metal, but who out there thinks it tis evil?

i am just wondering who out there thinks metal is evil and why. i might actually listen.............................or i might just laugh.......give it a try

evil? it's evil NOT to listen to it!

heavy metal branded as evil is done by people looking at an excuse to classify the modern day "angry" person. they do drugs, they commit crimes, hey, it's got to be heavy metal. what they need to do is take a hard look at the other influences these people had growing up, i.e. parents.

Metal is just a form of music and as with all forms there is nothing intrinsically good, bad, or evil about it. Is slayer evil? I love slayer but usually think they try far to hard to be evil -- "i keep the bible in a pool of blood so none of its lies can effect me" you just have to laught at that. I love slayer and alot of metal though I've shifted closer to the Hardcore punk scene of old now adays but to really take seriously 99% of the "satanic" bands out there is nonsense. What I've quickly learned after going to many metal shows is that the more "evil" the band wants you to believe they are, you see first that the band a typically physically week dorks or overweight baffoons and that the majority of the crowd are physically weak dorks or overweight baffoons. Nothing to evil about that.

Listen to Demon Hunter, Killswitch Engage (Jesse Leach era - being a devout christian, the song "Numbered Days is actually adressing satanic bands), Norma Jean, Zao, Seemless and metal wont seem so evil.

Most people believe metal is evil because they dont care to pay to attention to the words. Its an unfair stereotype by people with closed minds. Not all Metal is evil, much of it is actually quite insightful.

***i will point out, that while i do listen to those bands, i mostly listen to bands like Heaven Shall Burn, Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer, Crytopsy, Pig Destroyer, Deicide, Decapitated, etc.***

Adjust your moral compass. Yes, by modern day Christian standards, metal is "evil". Really it's a form of expression. I love metal (Slayer, Pantera, Mushroomhead) but I also love other stuff like the Dead and Pink Floyd. The things my favorite metal artists sing about are rather dark and brooding, but again it's their way of expressing themselves artistically. Also, it really depends on the way the lyrics in metal are presented. Though some metal artists will sing about violence and hatred, they are presenting them as facts, meaning they are not neccessarily promoting those things, but rather bringing them to light as they do exist in a modern day world. So to answer your question, metal is "evil", but "evil" exists in this world weather we accept it or not. What some regard as "evil" others view as basic human nature.....ah, crap...I started rambling.....oh, well. Rock on.
