No offense but this is the second time today that you have asked the same question. In all honesty I don't think you are going to find the answer that you want to hear. The consensus is that monkeys are not good pets. May people have given you links to websites, and event more people have said that this is not a good idea. I don't want to upset you I think that we are all trying to save you from physical injury as well as heart break. This is not a pet that you get without careful consideration and thought, not on a whim. These are wild animals and belong in the wild. It is not fare to keep it as a house pet.

Uh...Growing up my mother had pet monkeys. I know one was a spider monkey, but they kept different kinds.

Two of the three became so aggressive animal control had to get them. I don't advise getting a monkey period. Most of them come from pochers in forgien contries.

Check with your state and if you do get one find a breeder. Most states require licencess for "wild" animals.

If you decide a monkey isn't right for you. Contact a zoo. Zoos will generally take in unwanted "wild" animals.

The woolly monkey is the most docile. I doubt you can still get one on the legal market. The problem with them is the same as with some tropical birds. Once you get one you can hardly leave its sight. they are very dependent and must be taken every where with you. they will wear diapers and I think some have been toilet trained. Not sure on that one though.

Don't get a pet monkey unless you're prepared to change some very messy diapers! lol
Seriously monkeys are not ment to be pets and can be unpredictable and violent at a moments notice.

I never had a monkey as a pet, but I know that capuchin monkeys are taught to help handicapped people.

a George W. Bush monkey. This type of monkey is pretty docile as it tends to be liquored up most of the time.

Do not get a monkey as a pet unless you are prepared to care for an infant/toddler for the rest of your life. Monkeys are wild animals and rarely make good pets. Please reconsider.
