i work in a restaurant where more than half of our business is based on regulars. our regulars come and dine in our restaurant every day and they do so because of the people that work there, we serve them with a smile and great attitude and never keep them waiting, the customer comes first and is the reason why we are there, we know their names and talk with them and we really build a personal relationship between them, and i am talking about all the people that work out in the front (hostesses, waitresses and managers) are reasons for our customers coming back, we love our customers and they come in for the service first and foremost, if the food has poor quality a good server will fix it and make sure the customer is happy, just to prove that the customers do not come in for the food... they order the same thing every day!

I have found a lack of courteous prompt service will mean that I may never return to a restaurant. Whereas if that is present and the food is ho-hum, I will still return if it is conveneniently located. If the food is fantastic and the service is atrocious, I'll leave that place for those that can face being treated badly. I can't. I do have some favourite restaurants that combine both! It is possible.

I think that they are eqaully important. If you are seated promptly and are givin good and quick service then you are most likely not going to leave. Often, people leave a restuarant if their is a long wait. Quility is also importnant though because if some feels they did not recieve the quality that they paid for or wanted, then they most likely will not come back, and tell thei friends about the poor service.

I love a good meal, however, I think good, courteous and prompt service is the most important. I'll go back to a restaurant just because of the service itself, even if the meal wasn't what I originally expected.

Quality product is the most impt.
If its fast thats all the better- but if extra time is needed to get things right im ok with that.
Courteous- usually when going out i could care less about the waitress or hostess unless she is over the top rude im there to eat and have fun with the people i came with not the emplyees.
