Of course not. Bad people exist everywhere, not just in the Christian community (or, in this case, people who call themselves Christians).

The bible has been re-written in the United States since 1901 over a total of 5 to 600 times. Freedom of Religion allows anyone to wroship whomever they want. Thus, they re-write the bible to soot their own needs into their view of religion.
Answer: No, christianity has not gone backwards. People are free to operate as they want. It's people across the world that have a hard time of understanding the true meaning of Freedom of Religion.

It is the doings of man that have gone backwards and not the religion itself. King James of England with advice put together the Anglican Bible and John the Magna Carta - times have changed obviously since this as man has but they walk away from the words of the Bible yet read them in the courts etsc.,

Well the Christian belief (if you don't know) is based around faith. Now you need to answer this qeustion of yours for yourself. Do you think all Christians are like that or are you hearing about how much are doing that through mass media? Not all christians are that bad and cruel but due to the media we hear about that stuff because the public eats it up.

I just wish that Christians would realize that no one would have a problem with their religion if they weren't out there preaching that everyone else on earth is going to hell except them. Then maybe people wouldn't be so gleeful when a Christian screws up. We are all entitled to our beliefs, but no one has the right to hold up a sign at a child's funeral with the words.."God hates fags" To answer your question..well..I guess hating everyone is better than hating everyone and torturing them to death, or burning them to death, or drowning them, etc..etc...so maybe they have progressed a little.

Christian religion has nothing to do with it. It is the perverse members that do, however. They are not as separate from the real world as they should be and are prone to influences of 'worldly' issues. They think they're missing something, therefore, humiliating themselves and the churches. I say...down with the fools who slander and demean the Christian beliefs.

Men have gone backwards, religion has not. You can not judge a religion on the actions of men. I believe in God, but think that televangelists deserve a place in hell.

I doubt it. Christianity teaches a pretty dim view of humanity, and we believe mankind is fallen.
We don't like it, but we accept that humans err. And our faith isn't in men to begin with.
99.9% of my criminal clients lay no claim to any particular religion, by the way.

the bottom line is that christians and all organized religions for that matter have long ago lost any moral authority to tell anyone anything about any kind of morality.
it's time everyone realized that organized religion is about one thing - power and control.
they want power over you and to control your lives - organized religion is the original big brother...
