How compassionate is your typical bureaucratic department?

Miketrse2: You are right, children get abandoned by their parents. Rationally, how does one conclude that it is the 'peoples'' responsibility to then look after them? Don't say, 'but they'll die.' I want to know how the government becomes the default guardian.

Lou, who is going to decide who is capable of having children and who isn't? What is the criteria? What you propose is not only government interference in how we raise our children but absolute control. That would be a terrible mistake. The problem started when we were told we weren't able to discipline our children by the government and shrinks tried to tell us to talk to our children and keep a happy go lucky attitude about everything, not making children feel compassion and guilt when they did others wrong.

Bureaucratic departments have no compassion unless someone handling a case gets emotionally involved. And then compassion depends on many things such as who the case worker deems worthy of compassion.
Government should have no role in parenting children. I think Government should force men and women to undergo a test to determine if they can parent children. If they cannot, then the children are removed and the people are told not to have anymore. Penalty for having more should be same as drunk driving.
The same way China does it - maybe a 1 child policy.

How bout the government stay out of the way so I can take care of my own children. Now wouldn't that be a unique idea?

A lot of people can't or won't take care of their own children. What do we do with those kids? Abandon them?

Great idea.
