Do u mean just take out the ring from it? or close the hole to the piercing altogether? if just taking out the ring.. then it should be no pain ordeal. Just simply remove it gently then u're good to go.

It varies. I had a tattoo put on my arm and it didn't bother me then a friend had a tattoo on his arm and he said it hurt like hell. Depends on your threshold of pain.
Knowing people including me who have had piercings i've heard various stories. My only piercing was a PA and yeah that hurt like no pain i have ever known especially since they had to use a cold metal tube to hold open my....nevermind..just think decatheter (sp?).
Anyway the pain with piercings is usually over fast and the beauty is forever or until you take it out. If you have a innie it should be no big deal women's navels come in these basic shapes.
Hole, slit and wrinkle. The piercing at the bottom of the navel looks best and get some jeans low cut at the waist so you can eventually move up to decorative piercings my favorite is the navel ring with matching belly chain.

The piercing didn't hurt - but it hurt like He** afterward!
I spent nearly a week wearing anything that didn't touch my navel, and even resorted to medical taping a soda cap over the piercing so that it couldn't get bumped. Then I broke out into a rash (my dr. said that my body was reacting to the ring as if it were a foreign infection that it needed to "fight" but there was no sign of infection that came from the peircing parlor).
Then for the next 3 years it stayed infected nearly the whole time (gross alert....) it would be kind of oozey (ever have an infected pierced ear?...like that). And the ooze had an "infected" order if I didn't put peroxide on it every morning and night (told ya - gross). But it looked cute so I just cleaned it with peroxide every morning and night and put neosporin on it.
I only had if for about 3 years - then I got pregnant and took it out.
PS - I went to a VERY VERY reputable & clean place. I was told by my doctor that some people's bodies just try to "reject" the foreign object.

It's a very quick pain, almost like getting pinched really hard. I say go for it but just know that there is a possibility of it falling out.
