When FLicka got attacked by the Lion, Tim goes to shoot her and the girl comes down the stairs and says are you going to shoot her, and she says its ok you cna shoot us. Was that her spirit? what was that supposed to represent?

She considers herself and Flicka to be one person, they are that close. She means, if he kills Flicka, he's killing her as well.

Katie always thought that her father wasn't going to listen to her and never was going to try to so she thought that he wasn't going to chose that time to start. Flicka and Katie both didn't belong in the world and nobody really accepted them for who there were and therefore Flicka and Katie trusted and depended on each other and became friends.
