My 14 year old son wants to legally change his name from Karl to "Cash-Money God". I don't understand the meaning behind it, we are well off but still. I understand why, I changed my name a few years ago to Super-King but thats awesome and bada s s. Should I let him do as he wants?

Not till hes 18!!!

Changing it now would be a mistake, judges dont like letting kids change their names till they are much older so you would be hard pressed to find a judge that would allow such a change.

Besides, just because you want to be silly doesnt mean that your son has to follow in your footsteps does it?

Be the father and put your foot down.

You are sooooooooooo ?????? You need to seet an example for your children. One that you can explain and reason with when you do something but says he can't!!! I can't even believe the courts would allow you to have such a name change. I know someone that wanted a name-----somewhat normal---just not recongnized and the courst declined. And , this was a newborn!!! Not name change. Go fiqure

Tell him: You can change your name when you pay the bills or when you're on your own. Or if you changed your name tell him he can change it when he's the age you changed it.

Or just say flat out no

Just don't give the "As long as you live in my house you follow my rules" because then he'll probably just want to rebel.

My personnal opinion: Wait a few years and see if you still want to change it

well karl, no offence meant, is a little boring but i think cash-money-god is taking it little far!! Think of the repurcussions in the future when he's applying to a university or has a job interview! I would say no!!!

I would make him wait til he's 18. Its kind of like a tatoo, you can get it removed but its a pain that stays with you for a while.

Sincerely,

G-Money Funk

If you changed your name to something stupid, why shouldn't he, he is only copying what he sees.
