You can never and never compare Liverpool to Man U as they've won 5 Champions League trophies excluding the local ones and Man U have luckily won one only. So you can compare Liverpool with the likes of AC Milan, Munich, etc...
It's not easy to answer to your second question but I think both players are very contributive to their team but this year so far Ronaldo is just on fire... But this doesn't mean he's better than Gerrard they are both just good, man!!!

well, c. ronaldo is fun to watch but gerrard is true leader and a great player! i don't think that CR will ever be important to any club in his future as gerrard is in liverpool!!! AND LIVERPOOL HAS THE BIGGEST TROPHY COLLECTION ON THE ISLAND!!!!!
