Let's force everyone to use Flourescent bulbs.

Just make sure you are willing to pay extra to fund extra medical care and perscriptions for everyone who gets migranes from them.

My Mom gets migranes from extended exposure to flourescent bulbs. It is a common source of Migranes.

I think the entire US should switch to Ethanol? Good idea? Then don't complain when there is no corn, or sugar to eat. There is not enough corn grown in the United States to support the energy demands. No corn on the cobb,no tortillas, no popcorn, no corn bread, no corn syrup, no corn starch.

Since there is not enough corn for ethanol consumption, then we will also turn to sugar cane. So no sugar either.

Since there is not enough corn to grow in the US to support our energy needs, then businesses will slow down and energy will be rationed and then people will lose their jobs.

The point is to be careful of unintended consequences. If we want to reduce CO2 emissions, then China needs to stop building 1,200 new Coal power plants a year. The nthey wont have an economy and wont be able to produce things.

How about planting more trees? That would be the simplest thing to do.

Yes, it's a great idea . . . . but I think people will whine and cry because it's too different from what they're used to. It would seem to be a win-win situation (less energy usage, lower electric bills) but I think it might take a while to enact.
