Hi, Yes definitely. During early pregnancy it is usually due to the increased blood supply in your body - your body is busy making an extra pint or two of blood and your heart is working harder to pump it all round. It can also be a sign of low blood pressure - this isn't dangerous but it does mean you need to take it a little slower when getting up from lying or sitting down. If you feel dizzy, just sit down until it passes and take things a little slower if you need to.

Tiredness is very very common - during the first 3 months because of all the extra hormones in your body, and during the last 3 months because of the extra weight you are carrying, and because your body is working so hard for you and your baby. Again, just take it easy. Sit down when you need to and even take an extra nap if you are able to. Look after yourself and all the best of luck!

Is it unusual to feel lightheaded during pregnancy?
It's not uncommon to feel lightheaded or dizzy occasionally. When you're pregnant, your cardiovascular system undergoes dramatic changes: Your heart rate goes up, your heart pumps more blood per minute, and the amount of blood in your body expands by 40 to 45 percent.

During a normal pregnancy, your blood pressure gradually decreases in the beginning, reaching its lowest point in the middle of your pregnancy. It then begins to rise, returning to its regular level by the end of pregnancy.

Most of the time, your cardiovascular and nervous systems are able to adjust to all these changes, but occasionally they don't, which can leave you feeling lightheaded or a bit dizzy. If you actually faint, it could be a sign that something is wrong, and you should call your practitioner.

when i was pregnant with both my children, i had dizzy spells between 8 and 21 weeks, then i was fine 'til i was 32 weeks and i had dizzy spells again 'til i was full term. in the beginning and toward the end of your pregnancy, your baby will be taking all your energy. you might be slightly anaemic so next time you see your midwife, make sure you tell her about your dizziness and she will probably get your iron levels tested with a blood test and if you are anaemic she'll put you on some iron tablets to compensate. make sure you're taking care of yourself and eating properly and don't be afraid to tell your midwife exactly how you're feeling! she's there to help in any way and it's better to be safe than sorry! take care. Do you know if you're actually pregnant? I know during the beginning of my pregnancy I felt extremely dizzy. Like when I would stand up, get out of bed, or when I would turn my head.

Yes, happened to my wife throughout all her pregnancies. She continued to work full-time throughout pregnancies and, as a teacher, was on her feet a lot. On more than one occasion, she had to be sent home due to dizziness. It is normal in pregnancy and its good that you are aware. You need to not take any risks, let your employer know this is happening (if you have one) as they are obliged to minimise the risk to you at work. Also, listen to your body -if you are dizzy then you must rest/take things steady until it passes. Let your doctor/midwife/health professional know; it's their job to look after you and they can put your mind at rest.
