A place where iron goods are made is a foundry, I think. The artefacts discovered by archaeologists are kept in museums such as the Smithsonian.

Hi there.
Artefacts can be in museums or museum storerooms, but are also found in private collections and in places of learning (such as universities). Most are crated up and stored in warehouses, though. There are so many of them!
Iron is produced in a foundry, some large items may be cast there, but usually iron items are made in a smithy or forge, by a blacksmith or ironwright.
Cheers, Steve.
