citreon xzarra picaso sometimes stalls when turning eg at junctions when turning had a diagnostic machine on it problem still not solved can anyone help as anyone else alos had this problem. the car does restart straight away but why does it stall?

Hi there, this may help............ the ecm must be able to see the power steering working and the system has a switch fitted in line so that when the power steering is under load the engine fuelling is corrected to ensure proper engine rpm and emissions in all conditions, It is possible that the switch is faulty and the switch will not be detected using a eobd scanner or code reader, you may however be able to see past fault codes ref engine stall or misfire. Someone using a proper diag tool should be able to see the switch working and the voltage at the switch will change which the ecm can read and then the ecm fuels accordingly. It's a bit techy and should help you understand.

You didn't mention if you had a hot or cold engine. Sometimes the power steering pump can use a lot of engine power and in some cases stop the engine.

Some cars are quite prone to this....
