If by France you mean Paris, sure. The TGV should do it in a couple of hours, tripple that time for a normal train.

If you're asking about going from Paris to somewhere like Monpellier, then the TGV can take around 3 to 3 and 1/2 hours ... the TGV travels at around 185 MPH ...

where in france are you starting ? are you going by train
fast train or driving - motorway/ normal roads?

there are plenty of fast trains. get on Rick Steeve's site and he has tons of information on european trains
