Any idea why? The indicator on the dash doesn't even light up...

Take a look at the fuse. For some reason the PCM is not seeing the input from the Cruise switch. I agree that if it has less than the 36K take it in. That's what warranty is for.

Either the cut off switch, servo, or the cable is broken or disconnected from throttle body

A number of things can cause this. Take it in and have it repaired. I would think it will be covered under warranty.

IF ONE OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS IS BURNED OUT IT WILL CAUSE A DISFUNCTIOAL CRUISE CONTROL. CHECK FOR A BURNT BULB.
