17 is still very young (esp. from my perspective!). So the answer is an emphatic "no."

It is not too late, I didn't take a single dance class until I was 22, and now 8 years later, I take ballet 4-5 times per week. Go for it!!!

It is never to late to go back to dancing. I may come across as being mean, it may be too late to make a career out of it, considering most dancers reach their prime by 20. (And retire by the age of 25 from some sort of injury). But to dance for you and for fun, or to go into teaching dance, it is still very early. You have a lot of time left in your life!

Dance girl dance!

1. It's honestly never too late, unless your body says that it just can't handle the stress anymore.
2. Some of the most amazing dancers in the world start late, because they'll take a class or two in college.
3. Often dancers that start when they're three years old and cntinue on from there will suffer from burn out and quit.
4. And finally, dancers who start earlier sometimes don't really want to be dancing, they just do it to please their parents, so they'll quit when they get older. If you start later, its usually your choice, resulting in more of a passion for it.

Good luck whith whatever you choose!

I am a firm believer in it is never too late. 17 is very young and if it is something you want to pursue as a career, then you just need to work really hard but it is not too late to get back into it if that is what you like. I have got you by about 10 years and have not found what I really really like yet, but when I do I will pursue it no matter what my age.

nope.. i took ballet from when i was 3 to when i was 7, quit and then didn't take any form of dance until about 2 years ago when i signed up for Highland Dance. (i'm 19 now) even though it was so long ago, i can still remmber some of the postions (whihc highland dance borrows from) and it's really helpful. you'll find that even if your brain doesn't remember what to do, your feet will!

It's never too late to dance, people in their 30s and 40s are just beginning to dance, so you're never too old. That's if you don't have any conditions...
