I would have the dealer change oil during the warranty period. they use a synthetic blend and motor-craft filters. register your Mustang with myford also. this site keep a log of services performed and shows any recall information for your Mustang. also has coupons for services at the dealer you select that are very good prices. after the warranty use Valvoline, ford blended or Mobile 1. use the motor-craft oil filters they a pretty good.

It really doesn't matter. I personally am leary of store branded oils, but they're probably ok.
Just use whatever grade and spec oil the owners manual calls for. Don't let the marketing hype and mythology cloud your judgement or buying decisions. I use everything. Castrol, Quaker State, Valvoline, Exxon, Mobil 1, whatever. I only use Mobil 1 in my fuel injected HD, but I use dino in everything else.
Being frugal myself, I'll try and buy whatever is on sale at Walmart. If not, then whatever one has the coolest looking bottle. My choices are a little limited for 20W-50 for the Harleys, but for my truck and the wife's car the choices are limitless.
Partially related to you question - you didn't ask about filters. I would avoid Fram filters. Rather than go into a long explanation why, just google it and find out for yourself. Motorcraft / Ford filters for common applications can be found everywhere and are inexpensive. K&N, and Wix filters come to mind if you insist on aftermarket higher priced filters.

You should use the most expensive oil you can possibly find. The oil companies love it when you do.
Follow the directions in your owner's manual and use the oil rating that is recommended and don't be fooled by brand names.
