I'm not sure what I did but my status bar (above the taskbar) is three times the length it should normally be. I've tried right clicking and nothing that I can think of works. Please help.

It's a hassle to mess with! I get in that fix with mine too, now and then, when I get so brazen as to unlock the Taskbar and mess with the contents of the Quick Launch toolbar... 's a hard life.

I can't describe it in exact terms, but your best bet is to make it easier for yourself by (1) for the duration of the time you're boogering with it, right-click on a blank area of the screen, go to Properties, and the Appearance tab, and Advanced and go pick Active Window Border and (memorize the current setting and) set it to some larger size, say 5 (something you'll be able to nudge the point of your cursor into, easily, no?), then...

(2) Go to the Status bar with your cursor (mouse pointer). At various points, you'll notice it turns to either a || at which point you can drag part of a toolbar left or right, or a crossbar, where you can drag the whole mess up or down. At certain points you can adjust by pointing the tip of your cursor at the status bar and carfeully drag it around and change the width up or down or sideways...in weird and unexpected ways!

After much experimentation you may find you get it the way you want it. If and when you do, then right click and Lock the Taskbar!
(Then go back and reset your Active Border...)
