Get on the "No Call" list

2007-02-19 06:01:22 · answer #1 · answered by Heather Y 7 · 0 0

The Official Government organized Do Not Call list is the first place to start. See the URL I provided below.

Before this list was created, I spent months answering *every* telemarketer's phone call to my home number. I would request that they added me to their "do not call list". Every marketer has this list and is obligated to fulfill your request IF you ask them to do so. Hanging up or yelling obscenities at them will do nothing; you have to specifically request to be added to their own Do Not Call List. It took me some time, but in the end it worked. Side note: you can take this same approach to any catalogs which clogg up your snail mail box. Call the customer service # for the catalog and request to be removed from their mailing list. Yes, this is a bit of a pain but it works.

Well there is a website where you can register to have your phone number not called by telemarketers. The website is this : https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx that should help you out. Good Luck!

After responding negatively to such a call, add, "I want my name to be placed on your NO CALL list effective immediately". They should give you a toll-free number that you can call with any further complaints. Many states do not yet have "No Call" lists.
