I see so many quoting the ever famous "Wikipedia" to back their facts. Do most of you realize the Wikipedia is based on info anyone can input at anytime without needing proof to do so?

As a matter of fact, Wikipedia is so UNTRUSTWORTHY that my college professors won't even let us use it as reference material for any of our research papers!

I think Wikipedia is pretty terrific. Yes, regular people can input info but can contest info as well. Articles are frozen when they're challenged. You'll find "real" links at the bottom of the page that support or refute. There is nowhere you can find the immense amount of data in one place. Really great place to start with some good general info. A public service.

Of course not for college! Look at the references Wikipedia quotes!

Yes, but the articles are screened by someone so they at least have some factual basis. Its not like I could go make an entry that said the Battle of the Bulge was fought in North Dakota and the Sioux won.

Yeah your right but if one is clueless about a subject, it's a good place to start!

Yes, but for general facts, they are dead on.

And they are a great place to START your research on a subject.

Cheers, mate.
