You might want to check into using essential oils. They are expensive, but they last a long time and are worth giving a try. You can use them on your skin and also in a diffuser in the room where you live or where you work. I have been using essential oils on my daughter now for a couple of weeks. The oils are manufactured by a company in Utah called "Young Living Essential Oils". There are 2 blends that would be good and that is "Valor" and "Peace & Calm".
Another thing I'm trying to spread the word about is Aqua Detox. I had never heard of it until a couple of weeks ago when a friend did one on my daughter. It is essentially a therapeutic foot bath, but it does something to help your body detoxify and "balance". I know it sounds hokey, but it has been 16 days and my daughter has not had one anxiety attack or depressive episode. So now I'm a believer. I think it is recommended that you do one per week for like 4-6 weeks then once a month. And they are about $40 per visit. Men as well as women have this done, so don't think it is just a woman thing. You can check out locations available at www.aquadetoxusa.com.
After dealing with doctors, psychologists for the past year or so, I have found that they can only guess at what medication will work. So don't give up trying to find alternative methods of treating your illness. Good luck.

This is going to sound really silly, but nothing calms me when I'm oober stressed like Natural Brew root beer (doesn't have caffine). I guess it's mix of spices in it and the fact that it raises my blood sugar. That's another thing, when I realize that I'm irrationally stressed, it's usually because I'm hungry, so don't skip meals. It's also good to always keep some jello (the real stuff, not w/ splenda) or even a jolly rancher, something relatively low cal, around for when I get cranky. By the way, you can get green tea without caffine.

Valerian is supposed to be good but it can give some people headaches.
Have you tried the Bach Flower Remedies. My friend swears by them. She has been on and off prescribed medicine for a long time just like yourself. She's taking Aspen and Rock Rose from the BFR range and says they help reduce her anxiety.

There is a company called Intelligent Nutrients that specializes in organic and biodynamic neutriceuticals. They have a supplement called intellicalm which is very good for relaxation. It has the B complex vitamins, magnolia bark extract, magnesium and panax ginseng. Ginseng is an adaptogen which helps the body deal with stress and relaxes without drowsiness. You can be relaxed and mentally alert. You can order this product on their website which has lots of information about all their products.

there is a super stress complex from wellfx.com that contains all of the b vitamins as well asvalerian, hops, and scullcap and is sustained released. I have used this with suntheanine from GNC for about 2 years now and was able to wean off the meds gradually until I now no longer take them. Talk to your MD before reducing the amounts of Buspar. Not all MDs are into alternative treaments, however. Good luck

Valerian, passion flower, etc. help to promote relaxation. They're effective for mild anxiety.
One of the best ways to decrease anxiety, nervousness, heart palpitations and other symptoms is to avoid all sugar and eat a healthy diet. You can take this quiz to see how you might improve with a better diet.

I tried almost every natural anti-anxiety remedies (valerian, passion flower, Bach remedies, etc.) but I find that kava has helped me the most. If you do decide to go with kava, please have your liver tested every so often and if possible, go under the supervision of a naturopathic or homeopathic doctor. Please refer to Dr. Ray Sahelian's website. Good luck.
