Well I have 2 girls and 4 nieces.

Im 4 months pregnant right now and me and my husband want a boy soooo bad!!!!
I mean what ever we have we would love to death.

Now here is my question....
Is it true that if you concieve around the time you ovulate your chances of having a boy is very high??

Absolutely true. The sperm determine the sex. Girl carrying sperm live longer but swim slower. Boy carrying sperm swim fast and die sooner. So if the egg is not available at the time of the sex act, the odds increase that the conception will be a girl. Likewise, if the egg has arrived (ovulation has occured) to the uterus at the time of sex, chances are greater the conception will result in a boy.

What time of month you concieve has nothing to do with the baby's gender, contrary to poular belief. It is actually up to your husband, so to say. The sperm from his body, that gets to your egg, has to contain the correct chromosomes. Some men have only XY chromosome sperm, some have just XX, some have a mixture of both. So really, it's his fault, whether he knows it or not haha! I do believe that how a woman "carries" her baby belly is a good indicator. With most women, they carry girls higher on their belly, and boys lower, so it looks kindof saggy. So, if you think you are carrying much differently than you carried your girls, then your husband should be thrilled!

It's NOT 50/50.
The further the sperm have to travel, the greater the chances of a boy. It's not a sexist thing, the male sperm is stronger and has a better chance to survive. That is why if you have a "fever" your chances increase for a boy. For a girl, you would need a strong acidic douche so the stronger ones are killed off by the millions and leave room for the slower ones. At that stage of life it is survival of the fittest.

I'm not sure if that is true or not..but for my own experience it worked. I had a boy. I know it's called the Shettles method. I am attaching a link to a page on the Shettles method and on conceiving a boy using that method.

Like others have said, the chance is still 50/50 and its all up to the guy's sperm XX a girl XY a boy.

The closer to ovulation the better chance of having a boy...the male sperm tend to swim faster but the also die faster....the female sperm are a little slower but tend to live a little longer.

I think it's all up to genetics. In my family were split down the middle 6 boys and 6 girls, it's always hard to predict what your going to have until you have your ultrasound. But congrats on your pregnancy and I hope whatever you have that it's happy & Healthy!

No it is 50/50 because of punet squares. women have XX and men hav XY so XX times XY in punet squares equals XX, XX, XY, XY and so there is always a 50/50 chanse, unless you have a rare sex chromsome disorder. (Having an extra chromsome 23).

well wherever you want now doesn't matter because you can change anyways.if you curious about the gender, try the Chinese calendar ,I know that worked for a lot of my friends.the time that you ovulate anyways, doesn't make any difference because it yours husband sperm that determine your baby sex.

This worked for me for my first pregnancy, and we tried for a girl this time(16 weeks pregnant) using this chinese lunar calendar.
Good luck, check it out :)
Worked for my mothers pregnancies and most of my friends. Out of about 25 pregnant moms from my first pregnancy women's group, only two came up wrong :) 92% accuracy in my pregnant mother's group, worth a try :)
