Well a really good laptop I would recommend HP since its more flexible in customization and more affordable, not to mention they give u a lot of 'free bees' wen u customize like free dvd burner upgrade or free wireless upgrade n so on so u can check em out at www.hp.com or if u wanna get more info jus visit cnet.com

GO with an apple ibook. They are around 1200 bucks and they are perfect for all of the needs you listed. Very simple to use and they come with a built in webcam and built in wireless.

I have an Acer. I'm not a tech genious or anything, but it works for my school and work stuff, internet, lots of music, and movies. I paid about $1200.

I would buy a compaq used of a website there only like 5 hundred dollers my friend bought one

yeah HP, acer, toshiba will work. if you're looking for laptops at philipines, you should go to compaq.com and browse under your country.
if you're looking for entertainment, i suggest HP/Compaq. if u up to playing vid games, u should look for toshiba or sony products
