I immediately thought that the most effective hiding place was in plain sight disguised as a Christian. Were I a parent, I would have immediatley enrolled the kids in Catholic Boarding school and sent them there wearing crucifix necklaces.
This brings up the question "would you hide?" If the only way to be safe was to deny your faith, is that worse than dying?
Unfortunately, it wasn't always possible for people to hide and, to do so, you had to trust and depend on Gentiles who were often very frightened themselves.
"Sanctuary" is still honored in many countries overseas... i.e. fleeing into the actual church building to escape authorities - so long as you're in there, they can't touch you. I don't know if the Nazis would have honored sanctuary or, quite frankly, if church leaders wouldn't have turned folks over.
Given how hard it is to find a hiding place, I wonder if I wouldn't have packed up a rucksack and snuck out of the country on foot, traveling through the wilderness at night.
It's a tough question to answer because we don't know what it was like, we look back knowing everything that did and didn't happen and, as they say, hindsight is always 20/20.

IN Germany hiding was only a temporary measure. Neighbors turned in their former friends regardless of their social stature. Doctors, Professors, writers, musicians etc. found it difficult to hide anyplace. If you were a Christan and were hiding a Jewish person and you were found out, you would be summarily shot. In the Netherlands, during the German occupation, The Frank family hid in a secret room until they were betrayed and sent to concentration camps. Read the Diary of Anne Frank of this brave little girl I guarantee that it will tell you more than I can in a short space and it will touch your heart.

How are you so confident that Atheists did no longer help Jews conceal?? you at the instant are not. And maximum Atheists do no longer attempt to tutor that Christians are hateful... in basic terms stressful. and that i under no circumstances have confidence that folk shouldn't pay attention the message. i think of all and sundry of a undeniable age could study distinctive religions, then pick the suited one for them. What i do in contrast to is whilst Christian mothers and fathers in certainty brainwash their babies until eventually they think approximately themselves Christian besides.
