No cheating back is like comprimising your values to get back at him. If you can forgive him and you think it's worth it then go ahead, but remember if you forgive him you have to let it go or it will come back and haunt you. Personally... I'd say leave... no one deserves to be cheated on and if it happens once it can happen again. This is from someone that cheated on her man... I may not do it in my current relationship but I did in my last. Something triggered him to do it... if you can figure it out and work through it there is a chance, but if you have any doubt, just save everyones time and walk.
All the best!

Well, 2 wrongs don't make a right. Cheating to get back at him won't make things any better. You need to decide if you can forgive him first. If you think you can put it behind you and move on and still have trust, then forgive him. If not, then I would dump him and move on with your life. You shouldn't invest so much time, love and energy in someone who can't give it back. There are guys out there who can be trusted. You just have to be patient and look for a guy with morals and commitment to a relationship.

Do not do either...leave! Once someone cheats...the relationship is tainted. There is no sense in playing games with each other. Never disrespect your body to get back at somebody. You will feel worse. If you forgive him and move on there are trust issues, he will do things for you just because he feels like he owes it to you, and nothing will be the same. I cheated, I have been cheated on, and I know a few people that have done the same and stayed with their partners...IT NEVER WORKS OUT!!

To answer your question, absolutely not. That would lower your standards. Ask yourself if he's done this before? Who was it with, an old lover or a one-night pickup? What I'm trying to get at, if he has a habit of this behavior, he'll do it again. A leopard doesn't change his spots.

Harder to do is to forgive and forget. Will he stay with you even then? Are you ready to get couples counseling?

My vote in an uncommited relationship is to send him packing with a dear john goodbye letter and get on with your life. There ARE such loyal and devoted men in this world. I married one of them.

Good luck and find yourself a worthy man!

My boyfriend cheated on me about three years ago and I was devestated. (Especially since I just had our baby!)
I thought I would never forgive him but when I left him I found myself missing him. Eventually we worked on things, and three years and another baby later, we're the strongest and closest we have ever been and are now planning our wedding.
If it happened several times, leave. But, if it was a one-time thing and he's admitted it and apologized I would give him just one more chance.

if my boyfriend cheated on me, I wouldn't do either of those things. BUT. I WOULD dump his sorry @ss and go on with my life. if he does it once, he'll do it again, and I think women should have more respect for themselves. cheating on him is really pointless, because if he's cheating I doubt he would care anyway, plus why would you want to stoop to his pathetic level? kick his @ss to the curb and don't look back. that's what I would do.

I think you should leave the loser and not even consider doing the same thing back. What's the point of the relationship if this is what is considered as normal.

wy would you still want him as your boyfriend? Leave him and date someone else. Why play games? and why hang on to nothing? Its not like your gonna marry him after he cheated on you while dating?
