Is it ok to give oil to N Korea so that they will leave us alone?

Because, they treathened us first and we obviously cannot do anything to them since China backs them. Do you think the others countries will do same things to us if we always yield like this? Do you think Iran want nuke now for same reason?

You're confused. We aren't "giving" North Korea anything to "leave us alone." Quite the opposite...we made a deal with them saying, simply, that if they took what we were offering, WE would leave THEM alone. They saw the wisdom in that, and took the deal. And China, by the way, is NOT "on their side." China doesn't want North Korea to have nukes any more than we do, but Asian nations always stick together on some things. Before China would side with the US and the UN on North Korean sanctions (which they did, by the way), all diplomatic efforts would have to fail.

We did a great deal to North Korea. We cut off all imports to the country - even China did this - and within a month, North Korea was back at the bargaining table, eager to lap up anything we wanted in order to get the sanctions lifted.

We didn't yield anything, and everyone - except you, that is - seems to know this.

I don't think making agreements with the North Koreans to stop their nuclear program is making us appear weak. We had a goal and obtained that goal...to stop their program. Besides, they only wanted recognition from us more than anything.

If they had a missile that reached the US and they used it, do you really think we would care what china thought? I have no idea what Iran's game is. But its a balancing act that I suspect that Iran will lose unless they do something about their whack job leaders.
