Some women know their period is coming because they can feel pain in one side or the other when the egg drops from the ovary to the fallopian tube and then down to the uterus (ovulation...the only time you can get pregnant). Most women don't feel that though. Some women have regular periods and the period comes every 28 days give or take a few. A lot of women go on birth control pills so they can regulate and physically see when they will start their period by looking at the pill colors. the last few pills are the placebo pills and you start your period during one of those days. A lot of people also get cramps a few days before their period starts.

3. I don't think it's very possible to grow boobs before you start puberty. The only way to make them bigger would be to gain weight or build up the pectoral muscles (chest muscles). If you gain weight they will get bigger, but so will the rest of you and they won't be noticable. If you build up the chest muscles they won't be dramatically bigger. I know it sucks not having boobs when your young....cuz I wanted big boobs before I started puberty. But they can get in the way and cause back problems when you're older if they're too big. It looks like your friend might have to wait til puberty hits to get the boobs she wants.
