in Christian Bale's movie All the Little Animals, the summary says that he is a mentally slow boy with an abusive stepfather. Are there actually scenes of his father hitting him or is he considered abusive just because he kills all of Bobby's (Bale) pets? And how "slow" is Bobby in the movie? is he just sweet or does he actually have a problem?

This movie does contain violence...there are two murders in it and the step-father is so evil!! It starts out peacefully enough, but soon invades Stephen King territory when the tale takes a much darker turn. Also, Bobby has the mental equivalence of a 10 year old.
