Little known and little heralded James Polk. He sure could have used a public relations firm to booster his public profile. After all, it was Polk who expanded the boundries of this country to California. He also challenged the English to land rights in the Pacific Northwest and won. Polk is the reason this country shines from sea to sea. I guess he doesn't receive too much credit because he only ran for office once and shortly after his presidency the Civil War started.
