inheritence; will the banks/credit cards to whom they owe money be made aware and claim out of their parents' will?

Not very nice to owe money, one day it may happen to you. I was always brought up to pay my debts, and always have. I know the feeling of being ripped off by some low life that think they can get away with it. Funny how they walk the other way if they see you coming. It doesn't matter if it's banks or credit cards. I am able to sleep at night and that is a nice feeling.

The opinion of SCParky is slightly incorrect, normal debts become statute -barred after six years not five as stated. There are certain exceptions to this rule.
In the normal course of events banks etc are unlikely to know unless an exceptionally vigilant local bank manager etc. connects the two events.
