Unfortunately the blood on the hands of Slobodan Milošević, especially the genocice of ethnic Albanians, has stained the reputation of this group of people.
The media has their part to play as well, focusing on stories where Serbs are at fault (just like how it is easy to point out Arabs or Muslims)

I was in a Serb area carrying out relief work just after the end of conflict.
All three protagonists had acrried out acts of aggression. The reason the Serbs were more 'effective' in this was simply because they were 'better' supplied.
If I had a sub machine gun and you had a big stick, it would not make me more evil...just capable of being more effectively evil.
The suppliers always have much to answer for.
As it happends the victims I was helping werte Serbs...and lovely folk, too.

Serbs get a bad rap from Croatians. Turks do not like Greeks, and vice-versa, and so the world goes round.
Canada is the only place in the world where it isn't 'cool' to speak French.

dude, we are a lovely nation, just to others. we're nasty to our natives and i really dont know why.. its weird but i know a lot of serbs who aren't terrorists or murderers. hope that helps you. remember: hating someone for who they are makes the world a bad place to be in. love your neighbour and all that jazz.

In general, people don't know them and everything not known is scary and the easiest way to deal(or not?) with it is to "rap"it.

there are a lot of serbians at my school and they are nice!!!!
