Currently, Nickelback has to be one of the most overrated bands out there. Not only can Chad not sing, or play the guitar, but they have absolutely no creativity when it comes to writing songs, and the rest of the band is just really mediocre.
Most underrated, I'd go with Five Iron Frenzy. They're almost completely unknown outside of ska and Christian music fans, but they were an incredibly talented and original band.

The most overrated is definitely Vanessa Anne Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. They are sucko singers who wouldn't know originality if it bit them on the butt!
The most underrated is Keith Urban he is a great singer and Guitarist. You should definitely check out the song "Faster Car" on his new CD "Love, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing." You will not be sorry!

I just made a question about Justin Timberlake being overrated...so yeah him.
Underrated - many good rock bands that will never make it to the radio because of the lousy emo wave.

Eric Clapton is the most over rated and Bonnie Rait is the most under rated because she was not on rolling stones 100 best guitarist list and a bunch of hacks like CC deville were. CC deville! please.

Anthony Hamilton his voice is amazing....different from all the other pretty boy singers...Same thing with Lyfe Jennings-his voice is so sexy

OVERRATED
everything on MTV, [V], songs that get too much airplay..
e.g. = P!ATD, Green Day, FOB, MCR, AFI, AAR, hiphop, rnb, pop "musicians"..
UNDERRATED
IMO = dredg, opeth, 10 years, nevermore, onesidezero, and other musicians from other genres that doesn't get any airplay on medias..
