Put a note on his steering wheel while he's at work. The note has directions to a hotel room but doesn't mention a hotel.... just the address. Get a presidential or honeymoon suite and dress it up with all kinds of stuff. Fill the jacuzzi tub with water, bubbles, and balloons. Make a birthday dessert with "chocolate bowls". Melt some semi sweet chocolate and dip a small balloon in it. Set it on wax paper and freeze. Pop the balloon and you have a dessert serving bowl. Serve shrimp in an ice bowl. Tape together two nesting bowls. Fill the space with water and a few sprigs of parsley. Freeze. Remove the bowls and you have a frozen bowl to serve shrimp in. Get confetti at a paper warehouse and put it everywhere in the hotel room. Make some cupcakes and decorate yourself. Lots of candles in the room also. Just some suggestions. Hope you have a good time.

When my Sister turned 30 i contacted 30 people and had them mail her birthday cards. She loved it, 30 cards on her birthday how fun. Then we bought 30 gifts. Starting from when she was little buying her toys . We kept going from there until the present and bought her something that was on the cover of a magazine that came out on her birth month. It was creative and a birthday she said she would never forget.

My boyfriend LOVED the airsoft gun that I bought him for Valentine's day, and he was totally impressed that I knew how to find a great one! The good ones run in price between $60-$120.
buy him some pellets to go along with it, or a target for him to practice with.
This is a totally unique gift that he would never expect, love to play with, and allow him to get outside.

Something related to his interests. Something he mentioned to you in passing conversation at some time.. can't be more helpful without knowing what he's like.
