Ghosts may or may not be real. I have never seen one. I would check for another source of the sound before concluding it is paranormal.

yes ghosts/spirits are real. in my opinion they are those who have passed but because of the circumstances of their death they either can't pass on the the other side or do not know they are dead. There are so many accounts of ghosts. In your house go around and take pictures of where these sounds are originating and get a voice recorder and ask them questions and wait for an answer they may just talk to you! If you want to know more I'd suggest joining the site below, but only if you are serious, they are a wonderful help in these matters.

Yes they are. From both personal and scientific sources. You can go to coasttocoastam.com and look up stuff/pics. There is also a show called "A Haunting" on TV that researches that sort of thing as well (check your TiVo) on TLC or discovery channel. We all possess a life force and we know your body operates on chemical electricity. Energy can not be destroyed, only redirected. Therefore that energy of life has to go somewhere... It is also known that certain traumatic or emotional events leave a "psychic imprint" on the enviroment. Old schools can still produce sounds of kids laughing, the QM2 still has sounds of passengers when empty, and Gettysburg has the sounds of battle long after the civil war. Not hauntings per se, but a "recording" of events left behind by the energy they generated.

Do you believe in them? It's possible that it could be a ghost but it is also possible to be something else, like floorboards being old or settling of the house. Does anyone else hear it? Investigate your house and see what you think is making the noise, it's probably nothing to worry about.

yes ghosts are real. we live in a house built in the mid 1800's. it was used for Catholic Church services for a few years while the community was building their first church. the confessional "closet" is still here. prior to being used for church services our house was used as a boarding house: it was built right next to the railroad station itself. i don't know if the history of the house has anything to do with the ghosts... but my entire family KNOWS that they are here.

we too have a ghost that walks around in the bedroom directly over my room. he seems to pace back and forth... we call him "boot man".

we also have a ghost of a little dark haired girl that i have seen on several occassions simply walking down the stairs. my children, and even my mother had SWORN they have "tripped over something" on the stairs and then fallen down them.

we have a ghost that i call "the shadow". he just stands in one corner of our formal dining room. he looks EXACTLY like someone's shadow... only problem is, no one else has EVER been around to cast a shadow while we have seen him there. he's only there long enough to be seen, then he vanishes.

i have seen, though only once, a ghost that i called "Henry". He was standing beside the entrance to the "confessional closet". BUT, he was not dressed as a church-goer: he was wearing an old night shirt. i only call him Henry because the name "popped" into my mind while i was counting the buttons on his night shirt... i am the only one that has ever seen this particular ghost though.

my entire family has experienced lights turning off and on. the television and radio/cd player turning off and on. dishes rattling with no one in the room, cabinet doors slamming, doors opening by themselves (but only the french doors that lead from the foyer into the library)... the list of "occurances" goes on and on. in a GREAT DEAL of our family photographs taken around the house bright lights show up... they look like a flash from the camara, or a light bulb floating through the air.

there are a lot of people that try to explain paranormal activity away as "bad wiring", "camara flash", "imagination"... etc, etc... but myself, my kids, my husband, my mother, we can't ALL be crazy and jumping to conclusions! and, we have a great deal to lose if people in the community thought the house was "haunted"... we don't intend to live here forever and our community is VERY religious... NO ONE around here would buy a "haunted" house knowingly (you don't have to disclose hauntings in the state of Michigan when selling). i would also like to point out that we have NOTHING to gain from the ghosts being here either.

try not to be upset if you are housing a ghost. i tell my children that ghosts are just people like us... but their physical form is no longer here for us to "see" them... so in order to get our attention ghosts HAVE to do things, and be seen in order for us to know they are there. how boring would it be if people ignored you when you walked into a room? you'd probably try to get their attention too.
