If he works alone he can smoke in it but if he has a collegue with him he can't, somehow his cab is classed as a public place then. The smoking ban isn't so bad really, we manage quite well in Scotland, although when you leave a building you get a blast of smoke hit you because everyone is outside smoking!

It is not true lone lorry drivers can smoke in cabs in Scotland my friend owns a large haulage contractors and the police have stopped two of their drivers for doing this.By the way you cant smoke in your own home if someone like care workers or district nurse attends whilst they are there, some local authoritys have applied this for some time now.

depends on the country. The law at the moment in Britain is different. If you are in Scotland you cannot smoke in your workplace or anywhere that the public have access to. You cannot smoke in your own car if it is on a property that bans it. e.g. N.H.S. property. So to answer your question no because it is not your home but your work and two it has public access because it is not your proerty.

Trucks are not counted as workplaces, with respect to no smoking policies seen in some states.
However, if there are two truckers sharing a truck and one objects to other's smoking, he COULD ask for consideration under the law.
That said, if you're talking about interstate trucking, any complaints in one state would not necessarily apply in others. So, really, it's moot.

A truck is not a public restaurant. Only public restaurants and places where food is SERVED (not consumed) are effected by the no smoking ban.
