The security for WAP's go as follows, from most secure to least secure:
WPA2, WPA, WEP, none

WPA2 -CCMP is extremely good and, as I've heard it, next to impossible to crack. Of course, most home WAP's don't support it at this time. The best you can probably achieve is WPA-PSK.

If at all possible, avoid doing WEP unless that's the highest your router will go. It's very easy to crack within minutes.

WEP is horrible security BUT it's better than nothing at all. In general use the highest security setting your router can go up to. Also use MAC filtering and make sure your firewall on the router is enabled.
