haha not really cuz in real life you arent driving in grass and crashing into other cars. The only thing i can see how it would help is maybe the steering part, but thats not hard to learn once you start driving anyway. Unless you are planning to drive nascar or something, but the best practice for that isnt arcade games its like go-kart racing and stiff like that

OF course they do. Especially is you are planning on trying to out run the police. That is why there are so many 12 year olds that can drive 120 mph through traffic. And when you crash, you just start back over. The only driving game that comes close to being like real driving is mario kart, because you can shoot turtle shells at other cars just like in real life.

probably not, because they encourage reckless driving and promote a false sense of seurity because even if you crash in a driving video game, you yourself are not injured, contradictory to the situation you would be in on the road for real. and sometimes these games do not correspond accuratley to the actual driving dynamics of a real car (speed, brakes, view, etc.). driving games at an arcade probably would NOT prepare you for actual driving, so don't you dare skip your driver's ed. class to go to the arcade! ;-)

No, they do not. Arcade driving games don't teach you traffic signals or how to avoid other cars by checking your mirrors. Also they don't get you a license so driving with only video game experience is likely to get you thrown in the slammer.

i'd say no. Those games are so fake. Driving in a car you have a lot more to do.

yes, especially the "crashing, flipping and burning" parts because that's what it will look like when you drive for reals w/o instruction.

They sure do. I always drive at top speed and weave in and out of traffic, and when I crash my car just resets itself at my last checkpoint with no damage.
