YES, it is too small. It may be enough room for a baby, but the main concern with a tank that size is that it is impossible to establish a proper temperature gradient. It's difficult enough to do in a 10 gallon, but at least it's possible. I'd go with a 10 gallon minimum no matter how big the gecko is... Though as an adult a 20 or 30 gallon would be preferable.

Well, I have a baby leopard gecko in a 10 gallon tank. I think you should at least have a 10 gallon to give them plenty of room. Don't give the gecko a big water bowl like some pet stores (PetCo and PetSmart) tell you too, have a little one that you can change daily. Also give him mealworms AND live crickets covered in calcium powder. Hope I helped a bit!

Leos do not require lots of space, but they would apreciate more! of course. Really, a 5 gallon is a bit too small; go for a 10 gallon. Petco sells 10 gallon terrariums for 32 bucks.

If it's a baby, no. In fact this size would be good so he doesn't have to search as much for his food. An adult, however, would be better off in something larger - a 10 gallon at least or a 20. If you used a 20 long, you could add more (only one male though!) if you would ever be interested in breeding them.

You should really get a 10 or 20 gallon but that would be good for a little bit.
