vegetables...

romaine lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes are especially good source of nutrition.... basically it comes down to: whatever the crickets eat, is what your lizard will eat when it's in their bellies.. :)

The "blue stuff" is only meant as a water substitute - your crickets can't drown in it.

The best way to gut load your crickets is to give them a variety of nutritious foods, which, in turn, will be eaten by your beardie. Think of them as a "multivitamin pill" for your lizard. The more kinds of things you give them to eat, the more different vitamins your lizard gets.

One way I've read about doing this - and this is the method I use - is to offer them different foods on a 3 food cycle. One time, give them calcium food (there are colored pellets or "orange stuff" in a jar) or multigrain cereal (like you eat for breakfast) a day before feeding them to your lizard. Second time, give them fresh fruits and veggies - apple, carrot, dark leafy greens (avoid spinach), potato wedges, etc. The third time, give them dry catfood (they will eat it - cats have a high nutritional requirement and their food has more vitamins & minerals than dog food). Keep repeating the cycle and vary the foods you offer the crickets. Don't try to give all items at once - they'll eat the cat food and little else!

"Gut Loading" is mearly a term to describe raising & feeding your own crickets, this way you know first-hand if they're eating rotten apples or nice fresh fruits & veggies. I've never heard of the blue stuff you mentioned but if it were me i'd stick to all natural stuff because you don't know what's going to bother your lizards tummy or not.
With reptiles in general trial & error is the way to go.
