this could be many things but most of all in your case if u have ever droped it then i would say take it to a computer shop. if you never droped it then try restarting your computer. alot of times a computer can have what we call a bad start up meaning that it just dident start up right and has to do it again. after this it should work.
hope this answers your question

there should be a very small hole somewhere on the drawer of ur cd rom drive
take a paperclip
unfold it so its straight
put it into the hole (this should manually turn the gears in the drive and cause the drawer to pop open, expect a little resistance)
that should do it!

yeah there should be a tiny hole as mention, same way use the paper clip and put in it until you feels like you touch some kind of buttons or plate. it' would opened right awaya little.
if it doesn't open. try to check the connecting power and cables (If you know how), or just send it to pc shop. a lot better

Have you dropped the computer ever, the reader may be caught. When you try to open it does it make any roaring noises or loud sputters. The drive may be caught, take it to a pc shop and do not try to open it, you might rib the catchers.

Go to the help site for your computer. It may not be up to date or missing a driver that you can download. Right click My computer go to properties. Check device manager. Under Cd driver check to see what drive you have and trouble shoot if it has a red X by it. If you go online to a live chat room they can walk you through it.
