i find it hard to make eye contact because i don't want to make it look like i'm staring

I have always been nervous around women I find attractive unless I've had a few drinks. But when I'm in a situation where I find a woman attractive, I tend to act nervous or too serious or dorky. Usually though, I keep good eye contact and attempt to listen. I think though it's mostly in my mind.

I remind myself that she is just another person that could be tired of hearing men trying to pick her up. I just make a subtle comment that doesn't seem out of place. If she's interested in talking, she will let me know. If not, time to move on.
If it's someone I already know, I make more direct comments, usually to flirt or to have fun, that are directly related to their personality and how well I know them.

My cousin is like that
He gets sweaty palms
eyes don't know where to look
starts rambling in conversations
Poor thing...needs to hang out some more in social settings to start getting the edge knocked off before someone starts to think he is crazy.

if a guy is truly shy then it wont matter how attractive or unattractive the lady is to him... his shyness will be the same towards both... personally i dont have the problem

I used to wait until they talked to ME first ... I missed out on a LOT of chicks that way

just maybe say hi and if she responds then try to see if she is interested depending on her body language- usually i hope someone introduces me to them like a mutual friend.

I look at her alot then I tell one of my friends to tell her that she is good looking and that is how I get around.
