It is only a serious narcissistic problem when it is an autobiography.

Spiritual love is an attraction you feel based on someone's personality and how you connect with it. Now, any good writer is going to develop characters with a complete and, hopefully, complex personality so it's reasonable to say you've found a compatible personality in a book character.
I have my share of "character crushes" like Matt from NBC's Heroes, I figure it's normal enough as long as you're still able to distinguish reality from fiction. When you start sacrificing real-life relationships in favor of Alex Rider, or if you believe that this character is your soulmate and no one else will do, that's where it gets unhealthy.

No, I do that all the time. But usually forget the love when I start another book. What's the Alex Rider series about?

It's not weird:-) You're not really , actually "falling in love" with the character though, you're full of admiration for the traits, ideals, values, humour, intellect etc of that character. I'd say you have a vision of an ideal man in your mind, and this character fits your ideal. It happens to me, too. That's why many books inspire us, because we read about brave, noble and funny people. It makes us want to either be like them ourselves or be with someone who's like that. It's not psycho, it's healthy. It's what makes a great book and a great reader:)

Omg Edward Cullen is this variety of hottie yet... in the adventure that your drooling over a e book character your by no ability going to locate a actual hottie. Do issues to have exciting with some adult men to get your concepts off of him.

To me it's not weird. The author has succeeded in making the reader (you, in this case) like the story so much and think it so real that you have fallen for the character.

Neither. It's alright. You're just being you. Don't let people tell you to be different. You love the damn character then keep going on loving him. It's probably just because you'd like a boyfriend like him because of what you see in him.

That is pretty weird. You may want to focus on real people when directing your affections.
