These are camoflage and part of natural selection which is an aspect of genetic evolution.
The tigers and leopards with these color patterns were naturally selected because they made it to reproduction to pass on their genes without being killed by their predators because of their natural camoflage for the environment
For example a leopard in the drier areas may be light brown spotted while a leopard in the cold snowy regions may be white spotted.

Evolution - the different camouflage was useful in the different areas where they hunted. Lepards are fast their camouflage helped at distances. Tigers are bigger and slower so they had to hide in the grass to get close to prey and the stripes help there.
or GOD gave the tiger stripes and if there wasn't any grass around to hide in they died and the same theory for the lepards.

Their pattern benefited their survival. The leopard's spots make him more difficult to spot against his environment, so he has an edge in the survival game. The tiger's stripes give him an advantage in his environment. Certain gazelles are like that. Their pattern makes them hide easier against the backdrop of savannah.
