It all depends on seeding. The good news is that they probably won't share a bracket with North Carolina. The bad news is that I think this year, more than most, will be less conducive to upsets and Cinderellas. It is best to wait to see if Virginia even makes the field, but I would rate them as a second round team.

i think they could easily go to the sweet 16. i mean they are 18-7, second place in the acc. J.R. Reynolds and Sean Singletary are playing very good ball right now. i agree w/ the experts on this one. They have good quality wins against duke, NC state, maryland, gonzaga and clemson. They could easily get a #4 seed in the tourney if not a higher seed. they have had some bad losses early in the season though but i think they will be o.k and have a huge impact come march.

Virginia basketball team has play well at their new arena as they has their best season record under second year coach. They need to improve their skills with their new players who are choice to attend good school with improved basketball teams. They can make to the NCAA tourney.

UVA will make the tourney with an at large bid but probably will not make it to the sweet 16 unless they get a very favorable seeding

Virginia Basketball isn't on anyone's radar because they aren't that good. They don't have anyone to carry them in the tournament and for that reason they will be one and done.

they are capable of getting as far as the elite 8, i think...singletary and reynolds are the best pair of guards in the acc and possibly the country, they have two legitimate guys on the inside in cain and mikalauskas, and everyone that plays wing for them can shoot the 3...they are actually tied for the lead in the acc, but no one seems to be talking about them

Let's look at their wins against good teams:
Arizona is "way off" this year
Duke is "off" this year
Gonzaga is "off" this year (notwithstanding the 2 kids with drug problems, because they still barely missed a buzzerbeater OT vs Memphis, without those 2 kids.)
So, wins by VA against those schools were not so "great" afterall.
VA's only real quality win so far was against Clemson.
They'll make the dance, but I don't see them getting past the 2nd round.
If you want a real cinderella, check out Washington State.
