They only exist in the movies.
In real life psychics fall into one of two categories:
Scam artists
People with Schizophrenia who actually believe the voices they hear are from "Another plane"
There is some overlap between the two categories, but most of them are scam artists.

Speaking as a psychic, ask around for referrals in your area. Spiritual shops and gatherings are good places to make contacts. You'll be more comfortable with a recommended psychic. And rates are as low as $1 a minute.
Also, there are plenty of psychics on the Internet. Do a search for psychic and then add your city or state abbreviation (psychic NJ) and you'll pull up some locals you can check into.

I was going to different psychics for years and years before i found a reallygood one.
everything she said how happened its so scary
The good and the bad, almost even every detail
she is amazing,
i must go back and get another reading soon, its been 12 months
ask around, there should be a realy good one in your area

Theres a small community in New York...The whole town is mediums...Its a spiritualist community...They have to pass a series of tests before they are allowed to practice..I worked there for a summer and it was amazing...It made a believer out of me! They are only open to the public between June and Sept so if you want a place to go for summer vacation, I recommend it...The summer I worked there, James VanPraggh from Ghost Whisperer fame was there! I go to this lady name rose. she can tell u anything without u giving her any information. I live in Detroit, Mi. Heres the number to the shop where she works (313)566-0092. Maybe they can give u directions. (its not a phone psychic and she's a spiritual reader....big difference)

Ask around. Ask other people for referrals. Go to a local "new age" book store, or "occult" book store and ask around. Make phone calls. Talk to people about it, about their experiences etc.
