Generally speaking, Abraxas is nothing like the trickster. I know of no mythology involving him that speaks of him using trickery to get his way.

Coyote varies from culture to culture. Sometimes he's a creator and sometimes he destroys for his own amusement. To the Aztecs, Old Old Coyote (Huehuecoyotl) was a god associated with singing, dancing and sexual excess.

If any comparison is to be made between Aztec mythology and Abraxas, than the only diety that's close is Tezcatlipoca. While Tezcatlipoca was seen as being a malevolent trickster, He was the only god who could see and hear all, all the time. He was also the god of fate. However, there really isn't a lot of parallel between Tezcatlipoca and Abraxas, because, accorging to Gnostic thought, Abraxas was the only suprieme being in the universe. The Aztecs weren't monotheistic, so the comparison falls apart there. While the Aztecs did have a divinity called the Dual God who was the creator of the gods in charge of us humans, this dualistic higher power wasn't actively worshipped by the Aztecs, only acknologed. Abraxas, on the other hand, was actively worshipped.

Here's some excerpts...
Abraxas, also known as Abrasax, is a Gnostic solar deity associated with Yahweh, Mithras and the Celtic Belenus, as well as Yeshu (Jesus). Amulets and seals bearing the figure of Abraxas were common in the second century, and were used as recently as the thirteenth century in the seals of the Knights Templar. By medieval times, Abraxas was relegated to the ranks of demons.

There is also a Jewish tradition about this name.
